THE ROLE As an Interior Engineering Intern in our R&D department, you'll help pioneer the interiors of tomorrow by blending creativity, engineering excellence, and cutting-edge technology. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Collaborate with cross-functional R&D teams to design and prototype next-generation interior components and systems 2. Develop detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and renderings for interior elements using tools like CATIA, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks 3. Conduct research on materials, manufacturing methods, and ergonomic principles to inform innovative interior solutions 4. Support the testing and validation of interior prototypes, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic excellence 5. Assist in evaluating and integrating human-centered design into future Tesla products 6. Explore new ways to enhance comfort, usability, and sustainability within interior environments 7. Contribute to design reviews, technical documentation, and concept presentations REQUIREMENTS 1. Currently enrolled in a program in Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field 2. Strong interest in the intersection of design, innovation, and sustainability 3. Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA preferred, but AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Rhino experience is welcome) 4. Basic understanding of materials science, ergonomics, and manufacturing processes 5. Excellent attention to detail, with a passion for clean, minimalist, and functional design 6.
